1996 Monte Carlo 3.1 weird sound

My monte carlo is a 96 with 49k miles on it. It makes a wierd screaching sound when I put it in reverse to back up, but only when I first start it? Does anyone have any idea what this is? should I be worried about it?
Thanks for all your help
George

Rear brakes, very common on these GM fwd cars, rust forms on the drum overnite or the dust in the brakes gets damp and causes this, annoying but harmless, pull the drums clean up things, may help some.
