Merry Christmas..Have a Misfire
Well, my misfire seems to have paid me a visit before the holiday season. Thank_you Santa!!I recently thought I had fixed it. Anyway, now it is starting to misfire as you are driving, but will also do it at starting( About 1 a day). I'm not sure if it is because the weather is after getting milder, but when it was snowing and cold it seems to have gone away.
I've checked the EGR valve, found a cracked line. What else can be the cause. I will be getting the codes read this weekend, but until then, is there something I should look for? |

Not sure exacty what the line is, but it is the one with the elbow that connects to the top of the valve. I only saw it by chance. I had the egr port cleaned about 3+ years ago, recently replaced the plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter. Any ideas?? |

Re: Merry Christmas..Have a Misfire
I thing to watch for is stopped up egr valve ports.
To check and see if they are the cause just remove egr valve vacume line and if missfire goes away. You have found the problem. MT

Re: Re: Merry Christmas..Have a Misfire
Today I noticed that the cat had a small hole in it, causing a leak. Could this have any impact on the van?

Re: Merry Christmas..Have a Misfire
Yes and no.
I can not see it causing a miss fire. But a hole in the cat needs fixed. Also do the egr valve test and if it still has a miss fire start checking plugs and wires and anything that will cause a miss. Also get iton a good engine/capable scanner and look for which cylinder that is missfiring and check other sensor readings. There is a lot of info in a good scanner. MT
