Door handles--90-94 Sedan FYI
Just FYI, I have two Lumina sedans, ('92 and '93) and there are several door handles that have "problems", the worst one was the '92 Driver's door handle that broke completely.
The local Chevy dealer quoted me $196 for a new handle, which I would then have to paint to match, 'cause it only comes in Black and I have the body-colored handles because of the 3.4 engine monochrome package. I consider this price TOTALLY INSANE, and I even verified that this was for a door handle, which they affirmed. The local salvage yard did not have any that were useable. Seems to be a weak-ass part that is commonly broken. By "eyeball engineering", mine broke exactly where I would have expected, a notably weak area between the lift-up handle and the pivot point. NAPA 7355089 is a black replacement for the Driver's door. I paid less than $25 including tax. It is made in Taiwan, but at least it's not Communist Chinese. It is not a bit more confidence-inspiring than the OEM GM part that broke, but what the hell, the OEM lasted 13 years. The number on the blister-pack is 735-5089 but when you add the hyphen, www.napaonline.com doesn't recognize it. 7355088 is a "universal INTERIOR metal door handle" which may/may not fit Lumina. Likewise, 7355090 is another "universal" item that probably has no use on a Lumina. No idea what the P/N is for passenger side, or if the rear door handles are the same as the fronts.

For the good of the Free World, DEMAND COMPENSATION FROM CHINA for their release of the Virus Originating in the Wuhan Laboratory, released (intentionally or negligently) into the world in 2019 (VOWL-19). Ten trillion to start with, increasing as needed from there, PLUS compensation for the sickened, and "wrongful death" settlements for the families of those who didn't survive. END trade with Communist China. Last edited by Schurkey; 11-28-2005 at 06:01 PM. |
