2002 Windstar (Check Engine Light)

Hello to the group. I am new here.

I have a 2002 Windstar. Recently the check engine light came on. I looked in the manual and it stated that the gas cap may be loose (it wasn't), I should try a higher grade of gasoline (i did, to no avail). The last thing I want to do is bring it back to the dealer and have them tell me that it is going to cost me a fortune to get whatever it is fixed. The engine is running fine. I have not had a problem at all. Any idea what this could be?

Try bringing the van to Autozone, they will plug in a scanner and read the diagnostic code for free. Then report back here the code they came up with and we can go frm there.
