Squeeking at startup

Hi I would appreciate if anyone could help me diagnose a problem i am having.

I have a 1997 Mazda Protege, 1.8L 4 door automatic.

During startup, especially during cold days, there is a squeek someone under the hood. I replaced to engine belts. But i did not do the timing belt or alternator belt.

Also, the same squeek occurs when i turn the wheel when idle to the very most extremes.

Thanks for any help in advance.

James.

Did you check the alternator belt for tightness? Also make sure the belt driving the power steering pump is properly tightened.

Thanks for the excellent reply! I really appreciate your help. I looked at the alternator belt and seems to be worn. The second part i will check at the same time. Great feedback. Thanks again.
