88 astro 4.3 fuel injectors spraying gas BIG TIME
I Was Driving Home One Day And The Old 88 Astro 4.3 LTR Started Losing Power And Blowing Black Smoke Out The Back And I Barely Made It Home. A Mechanic Told Me To Put A Fuel Pressure Regulator In And I Did. Still No Good, In Watching The Fuel Injectors Closely While Trying To Start It Lots Of Gas Was Spraying Out Of Them. Do I Need To Buy New Injectors? If Thats Not The Problem Then What Else Could It Be?
Help! |

Re: 88 astro 4.3 fuel injectors spraying gas BIG TIME
No service engine soon light?
If not, the pressure regulator would have been my first thought as well. My next thought is the throttle position sensor, but if that were bad it would have thrown a code and the SES light would have come on. It'd be strange to have both injectors die at the same time, so I'm thinking it has to be something that controls both.
