95 Blazer Died While Driving

Okay, I have read so many posts I no longer know where to even start. I have a 95 Blazer that was running fine, I took it out of town it was parked a few hours, got in started right up went about 10 miles and was driving around 65 mph and it just died. Noticed right before it died that the battery voltage seemed to be higher then normal and the battery light came on. All lights were still very bright. Charged the battery no help. (was also told by mechanic that battery was fine). I just went out and looked and its about 13 on battery guage. I am not sure if the Blazer made any noise before dying, I live in South Dakota and it was very windy so I didn't hear anything. Got it towed home and tried to start next day it acts like it wants to start but just won't.

Of all the posts I have read here are all possible things people say to consider, fuel pump, erg valve, fuel filter, leaking regulator, ingition module, fuel injecter/spider valve, ecm fuse.

Seems out of everything I have read many people have had similar problems and gone out and spent a lot of money on fuel pumps and such but to no avail.

The blazer is throwing no codes, mechanic seems to think its the fuel pump but I don't have tons of money to replace this and find out it wasn't the problem!

Have tried to listen for fuel pump whirring when turning the key on have not been able to hear it but as I said its been pretty windy here, is it a loud enough sound I should be able to hear it even when windy?

I have located the shrader valve to check my psi but now have no idea what to use to check that with.....I am trying to do this by process of elimitation with cheapest things first! (Of course!)

Have also checked ECM fuse and all other fuses inside the blazer, read somthing about fuses under the hood...???

Any help is deeply appriciated! Thanks

Re: 95 Blazer Died While Driving

Yeah the fuel pump is pretty loud... you should be able to hear it over wind bro.
-check your fuses
-connect a fuel pressure tester to the shrader valve on the inlet fuel rail and check for pressure at the key "on" position (you can probably borrow one of these testers from your local parts store, or buy a cheap one)

If you don't hear it prime though, your pump is probably shot.

Welcome to the forum by the way!

Hi Cailen and thanks for the answer and the welcome. I will get a tester for the shrader valve asap!
