Post Wiring a after market head replacing infiniti premium stereo 2004

Had any one had any luck in taking out the stock infinity premium headunit and replacing it with a aftermarket deck? I want to keep the amplifier and sub and speakers if I can. Has someone done this?

...jus connect all teh nesacery wires together... or jus get a wiring harness that has all teh wires alsready connected.. .jus plug in and play
... since it doesnt sound liek you have too much experience with audio wiring... take it to circut city..... or a local shop... its quick and easy.. but if you dont know what youre doing.. and you wire one of the wrong wires together.. youll fry your head unit....

Re: Wiring a after market head replacing infiniti premium stereo 2004

I know all about the wiring voltages. I know the yellow is +12v and the +5v is red and ground is black. the blue is remote and the oranges are the illumination. I have heard horror stories from people about the amp and subs not working properly. Or the sub and amp being to loud.

the amp and sub are "louder" because you have an aftermarket head unit in... it changes everything ...

I recently went to bestbuy to have them replace my stock stereo with an Alpine I have. They told me that if I replace the head unit the sub will stop working because the amp that pushes the sub doesn't work with after market head units. I don't know anything about this stuff. I would appreciate if anyone could tell me if this is true.
Thanks

Now I am not sure what year model you have, but I am willing to bet that the basic wiring is the same or at least similar, but just to warn you about the wiring...if you really don't know what your doing, don't try. Pay the money to have it done at a shop. But if your insistant on trying, make sure to NOT connect the Illumination wires. (Orange + and -). Don't connect them together or to anything else, just put a cap on the ends of them and commence splicing the matching wires together. Should be set then.

Hmmm....I am not the greatest expert on car audio, but unless I have been just kept way out of the new gadgets now a days, I would suspect maybe a sales attempt. What is the specs on the Alpine, amp and sub? Might be able to tell you a little something with that info.

All of your speakers will have to be rewired separately from the alpine head unit. The infinity factory amps operate on a data bus system not compatible with aftermarket decks. You can get power, ground ignition and illum. off the harness but speaker leads are transfered through data bus connection. You will have to hardwire all of your speaker leads.
