Lightbulb 19" Inch RIMS (Need Help)

Whats up guys, I have a question that i would like you to answer realistically, I might be buying 19inch 215/35 rims for my 99 Si civic.

I know that itll be slower than any car on the road, unsprung weight, affects everything, ride will not be comfortable and lots of negatives.

BUT is it doable?? DO i need modifications? Will it RUB? Is there a way to solve the rubbing, such a modification?

For reasons other than practicality, performance, confort (which are the most important) I want to do put these rims on my car.

Can you help me out?
Thanks a lot.

Re: 19" Inch RIMS (Need Help)

As you already know all the negatives...

Commonly 19 inch rims are wider than the conventional 15 inch that came on your car, even wider than a 17 inch wheel. Try to found those rims 8 inch (wide) or less.

In my experience a friend drive a 96 integra with 19 inch rims and lowered (cut the factory springs), it looks great but rub the tires on the fenders.

Anotherone drive a 01 civic with 18 inch rims and 215/35 (or 40), lowered (with aftermarket springs) and no any problems.

I recommend to you inspect, and replace if necesary:
*all the suspension bushings in the front end and rear
*"boots"
*shocks
*springs, if you want a lower ride I recommend H&R sport (1.75 front, 1.5 rear) springs, beacause are one of the bests springs on the market and have low lowring rate

If you plann to lwer the vehicle install a camber correction kit (most if you will use 17+ inch rims).

Just inspect the suspension components and drive easyly and you should not have problems. [Maybe the tire rub when entire steering the vehicle.]
