Bad idol, when in gear 70 mph
Thermostat goes I replace it, right after that the heater hose under the t/b blows.
I remove the t-body and replace the hose. I button it back up after cleaning the t-body and I get a real bad idol. Very eratic and when I touch the gas it shoots up to aprx. 4k. then back to a bad idol. When I put it in gear, reverse or drive it takes off on me. With out touching the gas I can go between 60 and 70 mph. Run and sounds perfect, just has a hi idol and wants to haul. I have replaced the throtle position sensor and also the map sensor with no luck. Any help out there? |

Re: Bad idol, when in gear 70 mph
I would look at the IAC motor. It is an electric stepper motor that bolts to the throttle body and regulates air intake at idle and part throttle. When they stick, it can send the idle speed extremely high.

Vacuum leak some where, probably around the throttle body, or sticking IAC, binding throttle linkage on TB, check these things out, must have something to do with what you did.
