I have a 2003 Sienna which besides a few very minor issues has been a great vehicle. About a month ago we started having a problem with one os the doors. This is the same problem that RCharles had back in 2004, which he received no posts.
The door closes perfectly but when you tyr to open it it appears locked. Even if its not. If you manually lock and unlock it and hold the lock button out in the unlocked position it will open. When doing this you can feel via the door handle the mechanism grab the door lock mechanism and recognize it is "un locked" thus allowing the door to open. Van is going into a dealer Monday. I am fearful that a simple adjustment will be diagnosed as a wiring issues, faulty motor etc... Any one have any ideas? I was thinking of taking the panel off myself to look at it, but with my luck I would not be able to get it back on. |

Toyota dealer charge $90 to determine the problem. The door lock cable need to be slightly adjusted. Works fine now. To do this they had tot take off the door panel. The adjustment its self took about 5 seconds, no tools.
