Remote realigning and heater problems

Ive got 2 problems with my year 2000 laguna


1) The heater only works on number 4 (full Blast) I have been told that I need a new resistor . Does any one know where this located and how to change it over? could it be any other problems than the resistor


2) My remote control isn't working , I called the RAC who told me that the keys and sensor needs re-aligning , does anyone know how to do this.

Not too sure on 2000 model, but on my 1997 it is fitted to the blower under the dash in the passenger footwell. To get access to it you need to remove the glove box.

Keys will probably be dealer only option I'm afraid
