Exclamation Victory of the day (Suburu WRX STi)

Today I was driving home from college and I see this blue car out of the corner of my eye beside me (i hardly look at the traffic beside me). but i noticed some weird shape on the hood so i looked, it was of corse the stock scoop on a STi. he looks at me and i noticed he droped a gear and started to take off, me i was like "ahhhh hell no" so i droped into 3rd and pulled on him and took off (might i say i didnt just beat him i destroyed him). yet he tries again (like most losers try again and again well he did the same). I let him creep beside me and we coasted side by side for a second waiting for him to drop a gear and take off again. He drops gear again and yet another time i pull away very easy. we pull into town and just our luck we hit a stop light. there he starts to rev. so he wants to race from a stop... ok light turns green i let loose a 4 grand drop with my 6 puck and squeal all 4 wheels and just tearing away from him leaveing him in the dust (might i add he had a nice launch to being all wheel drive also). so i hear these STis are nice cars, well they havent impressed me yet.

anyone else had a nice victory here lately?

Re: Victory of the day (Suburu WRX STi)

they are very nice cars. lets not forget your modded, so of course its not gonna impress a modded vr4, but realize the sti is in the same range as a vr4 in the 1320 if not faster in stock form. saying a sti is not impressive in performance is like a saying a vr4 is not impressive in performance.

very nice kill though!!

lol "I'm still not impressed with them"

that's like the pot calling the kettle black man, if you were in stock form who knows what would've happened... nice kill though none the less, sounds like some fun

Oh it wasnt stock... but yes he was only bolt on... he had exhaust some guages on a A-pillar as far as i can tell. and if he had guages he must of had a boost controller... and i did hear the sound of a roaring intake (open element filter)...

noice kill! shweeet!

hey, have you dynoed your car since you had the engine rebuilt with all those mods listed in your sig? i wonder what your putting down to the wheels? what do you think, around 500awhp? what's your boost set at?

also, did you have your MAP-ECU and wideband O2 tuned at MVPmotorsports? if so, what is their going rate per hour for tuning? (i bet you probably got a good deal on it, knowing the owner and all, but what's the going rate, not what you 'paid' ?).

How do you know it was an actual STI? Many people like the look of the STI version, so they do a lot of the body conversions and whatnot so it looks like one. It's a possibility. And yes, you are far from stock, so the comparison is minimal.

Re: Victory of the day (Suburu WRX STi)

nice kill. STI's gearing does them wonders in the 1/4 and hurts them after 100mph, but that would only matter in half the times you ran him anyway.
As everyone said you are obviously way over-powering him, but it's still nice to take down a 12/13 second car without any problems.

well I mean, that's how it goes in the world of street racing, two people who usually don't know anything about eachothers cars decide to race in a split second, and I say a kill is a kill, either way your car is badass

Re: Victory of the day (Suburu WRX STi)

I know it was a STi because It said STi haha. No sadly I have not dynoed my car, I did all the tuning on the road... I live in a small town where the closest dyno is 1 hr away and charge $500 to dyno your car. As for MVPMotorSports tuning cars... they dont do that, they are just a distributer. They do not even own a dyno. They have just one lift used to work on what I call "the beast" or Dustys (The owner) 1200 RWD HP MKIV Supra :P
