Modifying seat rails to move seat further back?

I'm 6'3 1/2" & own an '89 DX Civic. Yeah, yeah, pass the shoehorn. I have SI seats in it which gives me enough vertical room so my head doesn't hit the ceiling... much.

That part is fine, but what I'd really like to do is either modify or change the seat rails so the seat goes further back. I've looked at CRX rails, but the floorpan is different & I doubt they would work (or would they?). I can't really see an easy alternative to the stock rails either: there isn't anywhere further back I could drill the rails so the seat would go back more & where it bolts to the seat seems unchangable too. I'd like to keep some safety also, of course.

I love my Civic, but regularly drive 8 hours to visit a friend (yeah, she's a girl) & my legs / back start killing me more than they should. Any suggestion?

when i replaced my seats, i had to make custom brackets, which i welded, and i believe that this might be the only way to go for you.
