I love my car but it seems to be falling apart, Sometimes my car will just loose power it freaks me out the otherday I ws going down the hwy my car decided to just shut down then come right back on like someone shut it off then back on, and the breaks "crap" I just put new rotors and breaks about hmmm 2 thousand miles ago but guess what there bad already, my stupid doors lock while im standing with the door open or the alarm will go off while im driving down the road, now the stupid question, is anyone else have these problems. ha ha ha ha of course you are we own VWs. Oh ya lets not forget the stuff on the door handles on the inside is peeling off also. |

I know what you are going through. I have an '02 1.8T auto jetta and it is falling apart as well. $300.00 me to death. When I purchased it the salesperson said German technology. Perhaps this is true but the parts going into the car are chinesium. Very poor quality.
I love driving my car too but it has become very undependable after 50K miles. My covering is all off on the interior door handles as well as is the outside film covering the drink holder and stereo. Looks bad. |

Re: I love my car "but"
I have a 01 Jetta Wolf with 31k and the only thing's going on with my car are the interior door handles are peeling and when I first got it I had a faulty chip in the car that sometimes lost power and the key didn’t work but that was replaced buy extended warranty. I need to get my oil change soon and I should also get my rotors turned and new pads in the front. My mom has a 01 Jetta wagon and she’s got around 62k and not one problem with it. My best friend has a 99 Jetta with around 75k and he has had his cuzin drop the tyranny out of his car from revving it to 6.5k and then dropping the clutch. He has also never had the 30 or 60k maintenance and the only thing wrong is the bushings in the suspension need to be replaced.

Re: I love my car "but"
The reason your car is shutting off while you are driving is because of your rpm speed sensor is bad, I had the same problem my car would shut off at lights change the rpm speed sensor and you will be fine.
