2005 YUKON XL recircluate does't work, why?

Hello to all. This is my first post. To the point. Before I take the YUKON the dealer and have it held hostage for a few days, I thought I would ask if anyone knows of a simple fix. The problem is this...When the recirculate button is pressed the light comes on and stays lit but nothing happens. There is no noise and it has never worked since the day I purchased the vehicle (bought it used with 20000 miles) I also have a similar model pick up so I am familiar with the operation of the recirculate button. Is there a relay or fuse that may need to be replaced?
