My tranny was changed from a manual to an auto, Now I am trying to get the reverse lights to work. Where is the switch located! Do I have to buy a switch or is there one in there already.

Look for a switch on the trans or go to autozone.com/repairinfo fo a wiring diagram

What trans do you have? What year is the trans? Did you change the column too. 700r4's reverse/neutral saftey switch is on the column by the floor.

Re: Transmission Change 1987 Chev 1 ton
If you have traced the wire to the firewall on the outside , find it on the inside where it comes through. Trace it further to where there is a connection under the dash. unplug the connection and remove the wiring from the firewall and under the hood. The connection where you unplugged it should plug into the neutral/revese switch at the base of the steering column. If not then put female spade connectors on the wires to allow hookup. By the way-these two wires should be blue and green.
