Cool Completed: ACME '06 Mustang GT group build

This was fun-I picked up a new Mustang GT kit, painted it in Cobra Colors Lamborghini Blue Ely, and handed it over to other ACME members for a group build to display at our show. Well, it didn't quite get completed in time. It's done now!

Matt W./CADguy applied the stripe decals. GTMike400 cast the disc brakes. Wayne W./BRE350Z did the interior and some engine compartment work. Eric C./Mach I 2003 did the chassis and wheels (he donated the GT3 wheels which look great on it). Another ACME member Paul Wehner (not an A/F member) did the engine assembly and helped w/the final assembly. So we had a total of 6 ACME guys build this Mustang. We haven't worked out what we'll do w/it, it might get raffled/auctioned or even used on a trophy base. Or we might just keep it for a month each and rotate it around for inspiration. It was a fun project and I hope we can do more like it. A big round of applause for the guys please!

Here it is (I'll try to get outdoor shots later):

It looks sweet! It was the only Mustang I've ever worked on. It was fun watching this thing come together, and hanging out with good friends.

Those stripes really set the whole car off.

Cool, I think it looks great and it was fun to be a part of it. I like the ACME tag too.

Looks great, that blue is sexy. It's cool to see what can happen when a bunch of people pull together. Great work, guys!

That is so cool that you got several people to contribute!
And it makes me want to do this kit so badly!
Love the GT3 wheels!

Yes, Porsche GT3. We had some Pegasus rims that looked good (w/sleeves) but Eric's leftover GT3 rims looked the best, and when everyone in the room agrees you take that as a gift and go w/it

The pics are a bit strange, I may have the color balance off, they're pretty yellow yet the blue looks very correct at least on my monitor. The stripes are a dark charcoal; not sure if it's just lame printing or they're not meant to be fully black. The model looks better in person. The Blue Ely is a bit strange; it's not the best Lamborghini color out there, it's like they decided to make it a metallic as an afterthought. The color scheme of this model is very much like the blue 2003 Mach I that Mach I 2003 drives. Looking at this model is like Deja Vu...even though it's the new car, you instantly think of Eric's car...if you've seen it BRE350Z's wife thought it was a model of Eric's car that she's seen in the driveway.
