Question Tire recall?

Has anyone heard anything about GM recalling the Bridgestone tires they use on their trucks? I keep hearing bits and pieces about it, something about "Premature tread wear" (Which I would agree with, my tires are shot at 19,000 miles), but nothing definite.

Re: Tire recall?

Try googling Bridgestone recall, maybe something there.

GM replaced my Bridgestones at 16000, only to replace them again at 22000 with Goodyears.

The zone rep did not want me to wait until December when the new tire compound comes out.

He said if a complaint has been made about premature tire wear, you should get a notice for a replacement.

A recent thread on another forum talked about this problem. One of the posts stated there was no recall but said anyone with the problem should check for a "Special Policy Bulletin" used to replace items that aren't considered a safety issue.

Don't know why they use Bridgestones, nothing but junk and no backup of product from Bridgestone. I had the dealer take mine off the day I bought the truck new and had them replace with Michelins.

Wish I had thought of that then myself.
