Interesting 1/18th on Ebay.
Perhaps one for the 1/18th scale collectors here ...

Wow - that's fairly impressive. I've never seen a LARK short tail done in 1/18th ever before. I wonder what that will sell for.
![]() I have seen a few custom 1/18ths. Several have been done in the Marlboro livery - that seems to be the most popular. I've seen a '95 Presentation livery (in fact it is for sale again now), and '96 Presentation livery which I almost purchased for myself. I've also seen a black/red Davidoff short tail (now owned by Thorst), a Sal Oppenheim Jr (Thorst's as well) and even seen someone attempt the West Adrenaline livery which wasn't all that great. Some people are really talented - that's all I can say. >8^) ER |

Well I can't say that I am surprised at all by the finishing price.
23 bids got it to $457.00 USD Looks to be well worth it for that price. The winner was the guy I bought my 1/12th scale F1 from. >8^) ER |

Well worth the price? Couldn't you just buy a 1/18 01R (usually most common and cheapest from what I've seen) and paint in the 13R color and apply decals? Or do they not make decals, which is why it's worth that price?

Hey man - if you can do it on your own for less than that price, then more power to you.
I certainly don't have the time or the patience or even the ability to recreate the car as well as he did. I'm sure he had to have some of those decals custom made. I'm actually shocked that it went to the buyer it did - I figured that someone from Japan where they are crazy about this car and it's drivers would have snatched it up. Even the 1/43rd scale version of the short tailed LARK GTR sells for a similar price, and those were produced in the thousands. Considering this is one of a kind as far as I have seen, then really the sky was the limit on price. >8^) ER |

He's customs are usually very good. The long tail Davidoff is a pretty simple car to do, the Lark is way worse. There are so many different liveries that could be maked I don't bother buying customs anymore as I have the ones I like and I make my own if there's some I would like to have. |

Yeah, there seem to have been an explosion in prices on custom 1:18's. I've had several inquiries lately on mine as well with bids exceeding the $500's. Actually I've been thinking of selling my entire 1:18 collection (racecars) just like I did with my 1:43's |
