Help
I got a 2002 kia spectra, 22k miles on it, automatic. The problem is something electrical, When you close the drivers door the speak on that door doesn't work. When you open it very wide ti does, but the speaker pops. Then at night all of the lights(headlights, dashboard light etc) start to flicker slightly. And then the odometer counts down instead of up. It went from 22247 to 22245, watched it with my own eyes. The car is being painted so does anyone know what could be the issue? The only thing I have done is reset check engine light and changed the oil. Could it be just the speaker wire shorting the system? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you |

Hey Ten,
That's a minor connector concern. Open the driver's door wide open. Go to the wires that go from the left front fender to the driver's door. There should be a rubber housing covering these wires. Under the rubber, there is usually a connector that loosens up. You may want to disconnect the connector, tighten the pin tension, then reconnect. Sometimes this same wiring gets pinched if it was in an accident of some kind. JP |
