Distributor
Just a quick question. I have a 98 Chevy 305 truck with 197,000+ miles on it. Just wanted to know when a distributor cap should be changed. Even if distributor cap looks good on inspection, should it still be changed since I have a high mielage vehicle? Or, what is the normal interval to change this part?

Re: Distributor
If it is still in good working order, I would not waste your money on a new one. The cap for your truck is sorta expensive. My cap was only 11.00 bucks.
I think yours is around 30 to 40 dollars. |

Re: Distributor
Good God Man, change it! Realistically, the cap and rotor on 96-98 trucks is about 150,000 miles. Are you sure it hasn't been changed yet? It will be $40 for both cap and rotor. I prefer using the brass terminal cap from Oreilly's and a ACDelco Rotor. Just my two cents. -Chris
