PK3 Keys on ebay 18.99$

Anybody buy one, they say all you need to do is get the key cut and then reprogram it yourself???
Sounds too easy...and of course I need an extra

I did buy a key on e-bay and just like you said, have cut and program yourself. mine works great. just be careful about getting the right key blank.

Question Re: PK3 Keys on ebay 18.99$

Hello,

When you say, "Cut and program" What do you mean my "CUT".

I am just about to purchase duplicate PK3 keys but want to be sure I am not going to soaked by the dealer to program them.

Am I wrong to assume these keys come already cut and that all is needed is the programming?

Please let me hear from you.

I really should get these other key. My key seems to walk off when I need it, then it re-appears in the most un-likely places.......

Thank you muchly for your post.

Sincerely
GIDGG

"CUT" means to duplicate your present key. I have had duplicate keys made at hardware stores and a locksmith shop. You start with a "BLANK" (uncut) key and match the one you already have.

Programming is EASY if you already have one key that works. More information can be found at the link below.

PK3 Programming

Take Care,
I agree, if you go to a dealer to have cut and programmed it will cost
a bunch. Hardware stores are the best place as price is much cheaper the dealer or locksmith, programming is easy.

Thank you very much for all this info. I have never had a transformer key, so I'm sure my question about having the key cut must have sounded dumb... (DUM! Dumb!)

Yep, it does sound pretty simple to program one, so I'll give this a whirl.

Sincerely

Re: PK3 Keys on ebay 18.99$

My local locksmith had spare keys for $20, including the cutting.
They even photocopied the programming instructions for me and I programmed them in the parking lot.
Before searching ebay, call around to your local locksmiths for prices.
