Question Tach Problem

my tach will someteims bounce between rpms and other times it reads 1000rpms to high. any ideas on what the problem is and what to do?

probably have a problem in the head of the cluster. I had the same problem, what i did what just buy a new working cluster, and took out the tachometer module and put it into my old cluster. It fixed the problem and didnt cost ver much moner, or take very much time
