LHS audio wiring trouble

I have a 1995 LHS with infinity sound and i want to install a dvd player instead of the original stereo, I heard that the car has a preinstaled amplifier but i cant find it.
Can someone post the wiring diagram for all the wires. I need to know if it really has an amp and if I can use it whit the dvd,or to identify ign, ground, constant, front, rear and left and right speakers.

Thanks....

Re: LHS audio wiring trouble

The wiring legend should be on a label or stamped right into the radio's case, if not then any wiring install kit for Chrysler cars will have the correct wiring legend and appropriate color coded harness connectors to hook to your new radio and plug right into the car's harness. The Infinity Amp will handle high powered radios just fine, I have a 45 watt x4 Pioneer unit in my dash and the amp doesn't seem to care as it steps down the radio's speaker level outputs to a line level input. You will find the Infinity Amp in the trunk mounted to the back side of the drivers side rear fender behind the trunk liner, look for a slight bulge in the liner.

Re: LHS audio wiring trouble

If you failed to hook the Radio's Power Antenna lead (usually blue) to the aftermarket harness do so. Even if the car is not equipped with a Power Antenna it still must be connected as that lead also turns on the Infinity Amplifier.

Also, some radios have the Power Antenna lead AND a Remote Lead for switching on and off external Amps (not sure what it's called, just a guess but check the Radio's install instructions to verify), if your Radio has both use the REMOTE lead instead as if you use the Power Antenna lead it will shut down the Amplifier when a CD is inserted into the Deck.

They do that because the Antenna is not needed for CD playback so they kill the Antenna feed when the CD Player is in use, but since the Factory Amp lead also powers the Antenna Motor (if so equipped) on these cars you need to use the feed that is always live when the head unit is in operation or you will not have sound when playing CD's.

Re: LHS audio wiring trouble

Best bet with these is to use an aftermarket harness specifically for your car.
