Re: Door panel removel
If you ask nicely at the dealer they will likely give you a copy of the illustration in the shop manual. Your other alternative is to go to Helm.com and spend the $120 for the shop manuals. Very handy item to have if you are doing a lot of your own work on the car. I'm waiting till my warranty runs out before I buy mine. Good Luck.

Re: Door panel removel
I'm with ZX2...got my Hayne's Focus manual at PepBoys for $15. It's not for really intense repairs or diagnostics like a shop manual would tell you, but it's great for simple stuff like this. Great investment, especially if you work on your own car a lot.

1.) Pry out from rear edge of sail panel (the triangular piece of trim by the window) to release 2 retaining clips, and remove panel.
2.) Pry off screw cover in door release trim (the trim surrounding the door opening latch) and remove 1 phillips (or Torx T20 screw.) Starting at the front edge, pry door release trim to release 2 plastic clips and pull forward toward rear of vehicle to release 1 plastic clip. Disconnect wiring harness (if equipped). Remove trim. 3.) Insert a small, flat blade screwdirver into bottom edge of door pull trim (the trim on the door pull). Pry out trim, grab and pull trim to remove. 4.) Remove 2 phillips screws (1/4" in some models) exposed by door pull trim removal. 5.) Remove 6 Torx T15 (or Torx T20) screws from edges of sides and bottom of door panel. 6.) If equipped with manual windows: With the window crank in the down postion, use a shop rag with a "shoeshine" motion to release "C" clip on rear of window crank and remove crank. You need to get the rag between the base of the handle and the plastic gasket for it to work. (Use some muscle...this is not an easy task.)

Re: Door panel removel
Well ZX2 let me be your first. I've owned the shop manuals for my '87 CRX, '92 Cherokee, and when my warranty runs out, my '03 Focus. My problem with Haynes and Chilton manuals is for a lot of the repairs they don't get specific enough. One example I can think of in the Chilton Manual I had for the CRX was "Remove water pump, then gasket." Not helpful at all in that case. Kudos for Daz for actually posting something more useful than mine. For stuff like panels though, I would say that the Haynes manual should fit the bill nicely.Welcome to the forum bigal.
