In terms of straight line performance E60 M5 > E46 M3 > E39 M5
Just to get an idea of just how fast the E60 is here is a video you all should watch... E60 M5 v. Gallardo http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...66008&q=BMW+M5 There is also footage out there of it beating a stock 996 Turbo. Jeremy Clarkson went so far to say that it is just as good to drive as the Ferrari F430, despite the annoying IDrive and crappy styling. It is simply the most amazing saloon on the market right now in terms of performance. Thanks for posting the Top Gear video. I love that show. After I got used to watching Top Gear and Fifth Gear I can't stand to watch Motorweek, CD television, or even Sports Car Revolution. Everyone on the American shows are sooooooo bland compared to Top and Fifth Gear.
