’96 Grand Voyager Oxygen Sensor Connections

I have a ’96 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE V6 3.3 and two months ago I changed the alternator. I wasn’t careful enough and I broke the oxygen sensor connector. After that I probably connected the wires wrong because I have the “check engine” light on. To find the right combination I used 8 longer wires so I can change the connections easier. Can anyone tell me the right connection?
I have this:
Black Green (from engine) – Black (from sensor)
Black (from engine) – Gray (from sensor)
Black Blue (from engine) – White (1) (from sensor)
Green Pink (from engine) – White (2) (from sensor)
The “check engine” light still comes on. I wonder if I could damage the sensor because I had a bad connection. Also, I would like to know if the wire length matters a lot in this case because I used like a foot and a half of cable.
From the beginning every time when I scanned I got the same code: P0171 – System too lean (Bank 1). I am not sure about this because it seems that it uses more gas and the very end of the exhaust pipe is very black inside and about 1/2 inch outside.

Re: ’96 Grand Voyager Oxygen Sensor Connections

First I know if you happen to supply 12 volts to the signal wire you will damage the O2 sensor. Maybe you did this? If you right wires connected but one of them is loose and not making the connection , no damage would occur. Also the length of the wire will not matter.

Re: Re: ’96 Grand Voyager Oxygen Sensor Connections

It is not maybe, I actually did supply 12 volts to the signal wire. The worst part is that I used the car like that for a total of 10 hours or so. Today I also checked the voltage from the signal wire and it doesn't go higher than 0.04V.

I'll change the oxygen sensor.

Thank you!
