up in smoke
ok my brother-inlaw has a 1999 jimmy. you can smell antifreeze and a mist is comming from the vents. but there is no sign of a leak anywhere.was told it was the heater core. that alot of work to get to it. is there anything else it could be???? and how much would it cost for a pro to do it??? thanks for any help

Sounds like a heater core.
It will require removing the dash board to gain access. Its going to put a hit on your wallet..you can try to do it yourself

Yeah, when that happenes it's typically the heater core. Not overly difficult to do yourself.... It's about a 6 hour job to get it out (think of that at 60 bux an hour mechanic) The core is pretty cheap at 20 bux.
