1990 Z24 Dash Removal to fix heater vacuum lines
Can anyone help me on how to remove the console/dash to get to the vacuum lines going to the heater/vent/ac controls, the fan blows but seems like it is always slow and only will goto the floor. Nothing can come out if the dash vents etc and with temps in excess of 100 degrees now in Denver I'd like to get my AC working (blowing correctly) again. Plus in the winter it never defrosts.
Thanks, Phil |

Re: 1990 Z24 Dash Removal to fix heater vacuum lines
[UPDATE:
I removed the fan/motor assembly, removed the dash, the fan spins, all three speeds work, the flappers all flap, when I place AC in MAXAC the little door opens to the firewall etc, everything works however I'm getting almost NO perceptible air flow from vent, defrost, floor etc. It's liks it is clogged somewhere, I cannot find where, any ideas? Thanks, |

plugged up
Hi,
Dont know if you fixed your problem with your blower but your problem is more than likely that your evaporator core is full of debris and leaves. Remove your heater core and blow your evaporator core fins clean. The problem is that if the evaporator core is plugged the airflow from the blower cant go through and thus blocks your airflow. Re: plugged up
Benny,
Thanks, I'll give that a try this weekend. I sure hope that is it, I've had to use the defrost a couple of times here and the only thing that works is a towel and wiping the windshield the way you used to have to do in the 1960s vw bugs... |
