Re: vetec preblem????

Alright first its VTEC not vetec.

How old is the oil, even if you have anough it still might be crappy oil.

When does the car not go into VTEC, explain a little more.

Re: vetec preblem????

For the second time VTEC, not vetec.

Change the oil, and make sure the car is warm before trying to go into VTEC.

Re: vetec preblem????

its futile, don't try to tell him how to spell......some people you just cant change! The reason it doesn't kick into Vetec is because there is no such thing.....

Re: vetec preblem????

Hmm, well I seem to have an unusual amount of free time today so I will answer this. I've done this before, but not in the recent history, so we'll do this again.

VTEC is dependent on several things:
- Vehicle speed (must be over 20mph)
- Oil pressure (must be just enough)
- Functioning VTEC parts, which include, but is not limited to:
> Secure VTEC wire lines
> Clogged VTEC solenoid
> Faulty oil pressure switch
(Mechanical malfunction of these is rare, but can and does happen)
- Any error in the ECU (throwing a code, etc.) will upset VTEC engagement so if your light is on, well..

However, most people who have problem with VTEC either are (a) expecting too much out of it or (b) have dinked around with aftermarket controllers.

If you ever want any help with your problem then you need to do two things.

1, Stop yelling. Posting in all caps is considered rude. Don't do it.

2, It is spelled VTEC. If you try and spell it any other way you will get ridiculed, and you will not get a straight answer to your problems.

Re: vetec preblem????

If you continue to spell it vetec after we've corrected you, then you'll never get anywhere.
