Pistons And Compression

I am building up my internals ive alreayd got a good idea of what brand im getting i just want some input on compression and bore please.
i wasnt to do it .030 or .040 over and put 12.1 compression or maybe 12.5 or 11.5 im running gsr cams for now but will upgrade later. i would like to no if anyone has done the compression that high for a street car im sure its been done id like some feedback on it plz and please be detailed. im very famaliar with motors i just havent messed with alot of hondas. its a 2000 GSR

Are you planning on building the head?? I don't know a lot about high comp builds, but what fuel are you going to use.....tuning??

ok once again i just want to no about the compression really and the bore yes my head is built up to 11,000 rpm's the valves will handle NOS and Alcohol i just want to no about the compression and what i can run on the street. I appreciate your input thanx

Any compression over 11.5:1 is going to be too high for pump gas. Even 11:1 is risky. When I have a 99 lude it did best with 95 octane that they sold at the pump is Massachusetts. Stay around 11:1 if you want to run pump gas

I run 11.5:1 with no pings what so ever.

Its all in the tuning.

I think high octane could handle 11-12, many estimates you find seem to play it safe

I've also heard that it's a good idea to get sleeves that close the deck for high compressions, but that's just what I've heard, I'm no honda expert.

my forum posters

once again please do not post unless u no what your talking about im not pointing any fingers. and you dont have to buy sleeves to close a deck they make block guards i know all that already im just not familiar with bumping the compression up is all trust me its gonna be bult up assume my motor is built and i just wanna no about the compression
so if you dont no please save yourself some time i no all the in's and out's i just would like some feed back from people that are running that high if possible or has built them that way.

my friend in his fully built b20 is running 12.5 cr and is on 92 pump gas, his motor does ping alittle here and there but not alot.

its all in the tuning
