Question oil mix-up

I was changing my oil yesterday and accidently poured in a quart of 5w30 with the other 3 1/2 quarts of 10w40. Do I need to drain the oil out or will it be o.k. till the next change? Can this cause any problems? Thanks

Re: oil mix-up

No, as long as the oil is compatable which it should be there is no problem. It will not harm your engine and will only change the viscosity slightly, unless your owners manual indicates you need 10W40 the 5W30 is probably a better choice for winter anyway.
