94 cav, 2.2l will not start, Fuel Injector???

I have a 94 cav that stalled while driving. Luckilly, it was near my parking lot and able to roll into spot. The car will not start now. I checked for spark and my arms make a very good conductor. Ouch!!! So i'm getting spark and it will not start. Could it be the fuel injector? I can hear the fuel pump turning on.

Suggestions

Any suggestions on what to check for? I just got in from putting gas in the carb (carb? ,throttle body?) through the air intake and it still did not start.

Re: 94 cav, 2.2l will not start, Fuel Injector???

I was about to say the Ignition Module, but your arms would say different, LOL. Is it TBI or Multi-port FI? If it is MPFI I doubt all four injectors would act up at once. If it's TBI you should be able to see or smell gas in the throttle body while cranking, if not then it's most likely the injector. Although I've never heard of one just quit working altogether. Check a junkyard for an injector, I know mine are about $80 each new for MPFI, not sure on the TBI injectors cost. I would replace the fuel filter first and go from there.

Another thing, before I replaced my EGR valve, it would occasionally not start, or would start but not keep running without holding down the gas a little. Put your fingers under the EGR valve and press up, if it "pops" loose that was likely the problem, if it moved easily then it probably wasn't it.

Thanks. I have narrowed it down to the timing chain now. I get gas and spark and the correct signal to the MPFI. So i think the car will sit untill i trade it in at one of them $2000 push it in, drive it in, drag it in kinda deals
