I've had close to the same experience with my 2002 Cav. Except its yellow with side decals. Anyways, in town we have a sort've gathering place in the parking lot of the local electric company. Well, one night a guy from my class challenged me. His car was some old Ford Lazer manual. Probably a 96. Well, we raced from stop sign to stop sign and I won. This was shortly followed by another challenge from a guy with a Ford Ranger. Funny thing is, this was all done within sight of our court house and police station.
Third and final race was with a friend in a neighboring town. He had Pontiac Grand Prix I believe, or something very similar, and we raced from sign to sign. I haven't had any challenges since, but that may be because my job is time consuming!!!
