No lowbeam headlights

I have no lo beam headlights on my '98 Cavalier Z24. Hi beams work fine, fuses are good & both lo beam bulbs were replaced. Suspecting a bad dimmer switch, I replace the multi-function headlamp/turn signal switch. There is voltage at the headlight connector & when the proper wire is shorted to ground the lights work. Am I looking at a broken ground wire between the dimmer & the headlight connectors? If so, is there a common place where it occurs?
About a week later my DLR indicator on the IP started flashing at a constant rate & then went off. Then I had no DRL's. They are now intermittent, sometimes working & sometimes not. Is this associated to the headlamp problem? The DLR relay is also good. Can someone please help me?
Thanx,
Steve

Re: No lowbeam headlights

Take a look at the wiring harness that runs inside the front bumper. There are several factory connections along there, and they tend to go bad.Pull back the plastic loom, strip off the black tape, and you will see what looks like book-binding tape over connections.Take that off at each point and check the connections. When you find the bad one(s),either use crimp-on connectors,or like I did, solder in new pieces of wire and then use heat-shrink tubing to seal the repair.
