Brakes: fixed but still squealing 2000 Jimmy SLE
I have had the front and rear brakes fixed (different visits to the mechanic). Recently, the rear brakes locked up and had to have everything replaced. They still squeal, its a high-pitched squeal but still very annoying. I took it back to the mechanic. He checked front and back. The rear brakes were the ones making the noise. He said nothing is worn. He ordered a speical lubricant to get rid of the squeal but that didnt work. Any ideas on how to get rid of the squealing?

I have the same issue and to my knowledge it is just the pads that i used this time around, also this can be caused if they need to be shimmed, but mine is just an issue of cheap pads

Stop by your local autoparts store and pick up a thing of anti-squeal... It's not really a special order item...
Pull your rear pads and spread it on the back of the pads (don't let it touch the pad material itself) That should cure it...
