you can buy ported ls6 heads and an ls6 intake manifold. And im sure other parts like the cams are swapable.

You could.
Although if you did that, you might as well go bigger and better. I couldn't see swapping out an LS1 cam for an LS6 cam. At least not if you are looking for flat out performance. The only thing would be the block. LS6 block looks the exact same as the LS1 block, but it (for some reason) is a little bit stronger.
