I am going to change my strut mounts and possibly struts. I realized it might just be the bearings that are loose. I have a 1997 Camry, I4.
My questions: 1. Anyone recommend a place to get decent strut mounts, preferably online. I prefer not to go to the dealer as it is too far. 2. Should I get anything else but the mounts? Are the bearings sold seperately and I can reuse the mount? 3. Any strut suggestions? I don't race, but drive on very bad roads, so I need some that don;t go out on me after a year. I have already changed Swaybar links and bushings, but I am still getting the usual ratteling noise from the front when going over small bumps. Thanks! |

Re: Strut mounts: What to change/where to buy
I believe you need the strut towers
Check Tech Service Bulletin Number: SU00299 Bulletin Date: SEP 1999 Toyota may fix this for you. ===================== If you buy parts, I suggest you get OEM parts mailorder. I have had the following sites recommended to me: http://toyotaandlexusparts.com http://www.camelbacktoyotaparts.com/ http://www.rockauto.com/ Bilstein also makes high-quality struts.
