Rear window pops open when driving

Hi Newbie here:

I just bought a used 2003 X great Jeep with 23,000 miles on it.
great fun but have a few issues with it, one is that someone backed into and did 1200 worth of damage to it : ( (not Jeep's fault) but the other two were: had to have throw out bearing replaced in the first two weeks of owning ?????, and now rear window on my hard top pops open while driving. really annoying. i heard it is because the strip on the bottom of the window is defective, too short, so it does not catch on the door when closing....also heard Jeep had a new strip for it...just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. if so, what did you do?
I am going to approach my Jeep dealer, hoping they will help and not blow me off or say they have no idea...comments?

Hey Newby, welcome aboard.
If your experience is anything like mine consider yourself blown. We have approached the dealer on three separate occasions and have yet to get any help. This last time they said, "if you take it off road that voids the warranty", it's a Jeep, where are you suppose to drive it. They said the steering dampener went out because we had oversized tires, we told them that they are a standard size for the Rubicon and he replied that the dampener was weak in any case and he could upgrade it for only $100.
Give the dealer a try, (good luck) then find a good parts place and a get a set of wrenches and learn to love your Jeep. It's the best way to do it anyway; no one cares more than you.
In any case good luck with the dealer, if he does well by you, make sure you send him a Christmas card.

Called the dealer yesterday. They told me they have a service bulletin on the rear window problem, and that they will fix it. The local Jeep dealer seems ok so far. They did fix my throw out bearing under warrenty, so I have no complaints yet. I am not the original owner so I inherited the throw out bearing issue. As a side note:
I never leave my foot on the clutch while driving unless I am shifting.
I read a lot about the problem and found out Jeeps are notorius for having it fail.

Cool that they're going to fix the rear window.

As far as the throwout bearing, it only rotates when the clutch is pushed in and the engine is running. Leaving your Jeep in neutral without depressing the clutch at stop lights will go a long way to preserving the throwout bearing.

My wife and I have had several Jeeps, and none of them had a throwout bearing problem.

Yes, they put a new seal in and all is well. it's a much thicker seal.
they said they have only had it happen on a few jeeps, which is why they had to order the part.
