Grand Am GT vs. modded Civic

So I'm on my way home from work, and as I pull off the highway waiting to turn onto a street, this red debadged Honda Civic makes a very aggressive left turn and gets in front of me. I see he's got a big, loud exhaust pipe and muffler, and he has some sort of mesh insert in his rear bumper. As we're driving, I stay with him easily even though I can hear he's on it (his loud exhaust didn't hide anything). I'm behind him as the road closes down to one lane each way. Then as we approach a light, it opens to two lanes each way (there's a temporary "Lame duck" lane to the right). Light turns yellow...I figure he'll stop, so I make my move for the lame duck lane and turn off the traction control. Light turns red, and he BLOWS RIGHT THROUGH THE RED LIGHT. I couldn't believe it. Maybe he was afraid of my Grand Am walking on him from a stop? Still, no reason to blow a red light and put other people at risk!

In any case, he got stuck behind someone at the next light (the other person had stopped, and he couldn't exactly drive over him), and I caught up to him since my light was shorter. Looks like he's taking the same route as me, I thought to myself. We both turned right onto a 4 lane street. He got on it at WOT after the turn and made a shot for the left lane immediately; I stayed in the right lane and open it up. A truck pulled into his lane and in front of him; I'm beside him and let up to hold him there behind the truck. I kept him there until my lane was about to end, then I punched it and got in front of the truck, leaving him no choice but to stay behind the truck as punishment for blowing that red light.

Okay, so the next thing to do here is cliff notes, right? Here goes.

Cliff Notes: Punk kid in Civic, all show and noise with no go, blows a red light to save being embarassed by a Grand Am GT, Grand Am GT catches up anyway, boxes Civic in behind a truck as punishment for blowing the red light.

Stupid punks.

While I break traffic laws at times it is usually speeding or taking turns faster than the posted limit. However, I don't blow through lights. What a jerk.

Re: Grand Am GT vs. modded Civic

The actual racing part occurred when we both turned right onto the 4 lane street; he got on it at WOT and went for the left lane, I stayed right and pulled up beside him easily. I ended the race when I saw the truck and the opportunity to box Mr. Red-Light-Runner in.

My apologies that anyone might have to strain and read the whole thing to get to the short, yet satisfying, race part.

no no, its okay. I read my first posts and they do sound very long-dragging.

for future reference just stick to the story and try to elliminate all the peripheral crap that really draggs the post on and on.

oh and stop with the cliff notes, thats just something redneck did like two times and it was really funny but then everyone started bitting his shit and now every newbie idiot does it cause they think we get a laugh out of it.....we dont, its actually very anoying.

oh and good kill.

You realize that if those turn speed signs are black lettering on yellow, it's just a guideline and not an actual law, correct?
Example: lets say the speed limit on road X is 55...you come up to a turn with one of those black and yellow signs that says 25...you can go 55 mph through that turn and still be within the law...it's a nice little loophole for us "spirited" drivers

I do that all the time, especially on a really curvey old highway I take from school to my parent's house for visits. Most curve signs say 35, I do about 80. God bless Porsche for fine tuning the Tiburon's suspension.
