Re: 4x4 suggestions

You'll have to tell us what year it is, Is it a S-10 or Blazer, how high you want to go, and what sized tires you want

ditto as OBP , but ill never reccommend someone do a body lift , yeah , they are cheaper , but they fuck up alot of stuff on your truck , not worth the time or money , just do it right and get a suspension lift , and dont be cheap , remember , you only have to lift it once

Re: 4x4 suggestions

I personally don't care for body lifts cause of the gap you will get between the bumpers and body.

No body gap here (well outside of the stock 1" spacing between the top of the bumper and the tailgate)

Re: 4x4 suggestions

Most people don't take the time to enginer their trucks a well as you do Rlith. Or have the ability to.

I see lots of body lifts, and most look awfull because of the bumpers not being raised.

No engineering required... The kits come with the rear bumper relocation brackets for the 98+ bumper, and for th 94-97 you simply use the existing holes and flip the bracket and lift it one hole...

I'd love to see what would happen if you hit something with the bumper. The bumper brackets aren't that strong in the oem locations.

The bumper brackets that came with it are 1/4" steel... Besides, if I get rear ended anyway, the bumper regardless of it's position is gonna be toast , oem location or raised.

anyone ever think about the linkages and such on there? hell , on my old 95 sonoma , had a 2" , had to put spacers between the fan shroud, and if you drive stick , yoru shifter will sit lower too , and if you really decide to mob on it....do you really feel like putting one of thos 2 or 3" spacers thru your floor board? its just not effective , especiall on s-10's\blazers , because the frame already stick down so low below the body , a body lift makes it just look funny , do whatever you want with your trucks , but ill never , ever , reccomend anyone do a body lift

Re: 4x4 suggestions

Well, fortunatly I have an e-fan (something I would reccomend for anyone with a BL) I will concede the manual shifter can be a bit of a pain but not insurmountable. It is much better with an automatic though..(especially considering they're cables)... As far as the frame goes, Nerfbars are a good way of hiding it... I mean, I'm not arguing with anyone, just stating my opinion is all...

Re: 4x4 suggestions

I do agree about the looks of the frame, but I don't think that a nicely painted frame looks to bad under there

Really before we argue about what mudder should use we should really find out what sized tires he'll be running, and how high he wants to go.

If he wants a 2" lift and to run 30" tires then I think that everyone except for Rlith would agree on a suspension lift.

If he wants to go sky high, and run 36" tires then he'll need both lifts to clear, along with some trimming.

I know that if I lift my Blazer next year I'll be using a 2" suspension lift and a 2" body lift. Then running 31" tires

Rlith is right about the E-fan. I used a Taurus fan in my Blazer, and it works great
