88 s10

i kind of sound like a dumass but iv got a 88 s10 2.5 FI and i think the starter is out and but when we pull start it i just like floors it and dies every time. i think it might be the accelerator cable to short. any suggestions

Not too likely, unless someone just changed it.

The cable might be frayed somewhere, and if it is you'll have to replace it.

Make sure that the throttle return springs are there, and not broken or streached

while putting a new starter in, you might want to do a good tune up. cap wires, plugs, rotor, air and fuel filters, pcv valve, and clean throttle body. then see how that does.
most problems with older trucks can be cured by a basic and simple tune up. but take care of that starter too.
