get a timing light and check the timing... or it could be bad gas in the car, do the timing...no luck, drain the gas and put new gas in, that dont do nething, then do a TUNE-UP

ok spent the day testing stuff and cleaning...i found the grounding block...behind the batt...removed all rust and stuff...unpluged and checked all plugs behind batt...checked all sencers for a short and found none..checked distribtor..its spotless...checked if jumped time...it did not...stright wired the car to see if it would stay running....i dont think it works on this car
could it be the computer on the drivers side under the hood...how would i go about testing it to find out?

thanks for all your input so far....this thing is killing me!!

Had the same thing happen to me. My car had 180k miles on it, no problems like that one. But one day went to get a hamburger at a drive through. Turned the engine off for a few minutes while waiting then when I went to turn it on it ran for a few seconds, like two and the just shut off. I suspected the shutdown relay, but I had recenlty changed it. Had the car towed home.

The next day I shorted the shutdown relay to see if the car would keep running still nothing. I even changed the fuel injectors, expensive step and the fuel pressure regulator, still nothing.

Guess what it was???? Had an old engine controller sitting around, plugged it in and it ran fine.

Go figure. Since then I have been to the pick a part and picked up a few extra controllers for 30 bucks each. My car is a v6 3.0 engine, but I suspect that whatever computer failure causes this is problem prone to happen in the 4 cyn engines as well

Good luck! I figure, well now I have new injectors and a new regulator?

But check the fuel pressure and make sure that it is good as well.

Good luck!!!
