Police Computer?
I have a 97 crown vic that doesnt have the police interceptor package and I was wondering if a computer from a PI car would work without any modifications? If so, what all years could I get one from?

Re: Police Computer?
Yes, a PI computer will simply replace your stock PCM. You should stick with the same year PCM as what you have.
I will caution you that the performance difference is MUCH LESS than getting a chip/tune from someone like www.blueovalchips.com (or another authorized SCT dealer). But you also don't get a big bill. |

i don't know if anyone has ever dyno tested the difference.
but you will notice slightly firmer shifts, higher shifts, higher or no rev limiter, higher idle rpm, and if your car has pats... you will lose it with the pi ecm. |
