Clutch fluid problem... slave cylinder leaking??

When I removed the drain plug on the slave cylinder for the hydraulic clutch system, no fluid came out. The reservoir in the engine compartment is full. When the clutch is pushed you can see the slave cylinder moving through the drain hole. Is this normal? It seems like their should have been fluid coming out when I removed the drain. If there is no fluid, how is the clutch even still working? Please help me understand what is happening here.

Re: Clutch fluid problem... slave cylinder leaking??

I don't believe that there is a drain. It's probably the bleeder that you pulled. They look like a grease nipple. Or it could just be a bolt that you pulled.

If it's the bleeder it'll squirt out fluid when someone steps on the pedal. If you decide to try this wear safety glasses, and a dust mask so you don't end up blinded or eating the fluid.

And they MUST hold the clutch pedal down until you tighten the bleeder back in, or you'll have air in the system.

I hope that this little bit of info helps you.
