98 Lesabre

I was just doing some research on the 98 Lesabre I bought used. I've noticed a lot of people having problems with a plastic intake manifold and some kind of plenum(sp?)

Has anybody had to replace these parts & how much will the repairs be?

I think I should fix it before something happens.

I had my 1997 done and it cost $800 in a garage. Dealer price would be much higher.

Re: 98 Lesabre

How do you know when the intake plenium manifold is shot? or in need of replacement?
I started noticing a smell from under my car yesterday. it smells like wax burning. there is no smoke visable , just a strong smell.

Was it your cars birthday? Did you have cake and all (candles burning on the cake)? Just kidding. When I got my 97 the previous owner said that this was fixed on my car. On occasion I do smell antifreeze. This gets me to wonder if this was really fixed.

Regards

Dan
