1992 Grand Marquis Idle problem & codes
Ran a scan for codes due to the check engine light flashing every once and a while and the engine dieing at idle. The codes logged were:
• 157 – Mass Air Flow sensor fault, low voltage • 172 - HEGO (HO2S) sensor fault/lean • 176 - HEGO (HO2S) sensor fault/always lean From reading similar posts it appears the engine dieing is related to the Mass Air Flow sensor and I wondered if there is anything else I can do before replacing it? Would a problem with the Mass Air flow cause the other sensor codes? |

Check other posts here. There's some good ones telling you how to clean the MAF with electronic cleaner spray. Try that.
