2005 corolla seatbelt light

Hey guys I just got a 2005 Corolla and am loving it. However, I am having an annoyance problem with the seat belt light and all the dinging. I know in some other cars you can actually make that stop. Sounds funny but if you press the seat belt button in a certain pattern it will shut off. Does that sound familiar to anyone? If there is another way to do it I will give it a try. Thanks.

Riot662,
I agree! My kid has an '05 Corolla S and when I unlatch the seatbelt, say at a fast food drive-thru, it's that horrible dinging tune it plays. The warning light is a good thing but that dinging has got to go. Anyone know how to "make it go away?" I did notice that if you're in neutral it won't ding when you unlatch it. It only happens when it's in gear.

I unplugged the wiring under the driver's seat. THis stopped the noise but on the dash, there's a light that looks like the air bag may not be functioning. anyone seen this?

i was gonna say that you might find a fuse that you could disconnect to solve the problem. the thing about this though, it that you might only have one fuse (for the dashboard gauges, might also control the seat belt warnings). if you disconnected that, your whole dash might go out. not good. so after i thought about that, the easiest way to do it would probably be to unplug the wire that bills2k was talking about.
