Greasing my car

I got a grease gun and now I'm gonna drive my car up on ramps and get under it and grease it.

Should I grease every zerk fitting I see or are there some things which should not be greased?

How often do you guys grease your cars? The manual gives a schedule but I don't trust it (they probably don't want you greasing it as often as you should so it breaks down and you bring it to them to repair it and they make more profit).

I figure there's no such thing as too much grease or too often but you never know...

My car's a 05 Sunfire btw

well ur right theres nothing like too much grease i say'

grease ur suspension... balljoints tie rod ends etc i think do it every six months

doesnt cost a lot and give ya peace of mind

also if u drive on snow or too much rain ill say is a a smart move

now while u there give it a check to everything else like

cv joint boots doesnt matter if is new something on the road might hit ur car u never know

just make checking a routine it might save ya some $$$$$

Well I drove my car up on ramps and got under it... But I could only find two grease fittings (one by each front wheel). According to the manual there are more (transmission linkage needs to be greased, and something to do with the parking brake) but I looked hard and didn't see any more grease fittings anywhere. Now I'm confused.

Re: Greasing my car

well, sunfires DO only have 2 fittings, but watch out-there IS such a thing as too much grease. if you put too much in, you will blow the seal.
i think that as far as regularity goes, if the seal is bulging your good. maybe a shot every oil change or so
